Pedro Pinto

Dr. Pedro Pinto is an EASA class 1 Aeromedical Examiner and a family doctor in Porto region. He also works part-time as a civil general practitioner for the Portuguese Air Force. He got his diploma in Aviation Medicine in 2018 from the Portuguese Air Force Academy and his final thesis, whose results were adopted by the national CAA, was a study that found a level of evidence rejecting the systematic use of chest X-rays in EASA class 1 initial applicants. Pedro was part of the organization committee of the Portuguese Aerospace Medicine Society (SMAPor) Advanced Aviation medicine Mini-Course on Mental Health in 2023 for AMEs across Europe. He has been  Treasurer of SMAPor since 2021 and is excited to be part of the ICAM 2024 Organization Committee.
